WARM WAVES OF GRACE
I make a mess of my life more than I care to admit. I’ll speak before I think, or act on feeling rather than reason. And, the guilt and/or shame of an incident may be remembered for years after the event. I’ll lie in bed at night remembering my mistakes and feeling the emotional aftermath.
From the moment I entered the world, a spiritual war has raged for my soul (Eph 6:12). Everyday is a new battle. And, the war will continue until I die. One of Satan's best weapons is to accuse me. He'll dig up old mistakes and remind me of them. He's trying to lead me away from the truth.
And, the truth is God offers unconditional forgiveness always (1 John 1:19). And, He doesn’t keep any records of my errors (1 Cor 13:5).
Ever.
There is no year-end report of everything I did wrong. And, it’s not because I did anything.
When Jesus Christ died, His bloodshed reconciled my relationship with God (Romans 5:11). Now, God only sees me as clean and perfect. No amount of kindness or goodness contributed to this restoration.
Our good standing is a free gift.
Showered in His grace. Free from all my sin.
There is nothing you can do to make God stop loving you (Rom 8:38-39).
There is nothing you can do to make God leave (Heb 13:5-6).
There is nothing you can do to make God forget you (Isa 49:15).
There is nothing you can do to earn His grace and mercy. It’s free and unconditional (Rom 5:20-21).
He loves you.
Ask for His forgiveness, and He’ll overwhelm you with mercy. Like a warm wave of peace crashing over the beach of your soul. It erases all blemishes.
Don't let Satan accuse, distract, or mislead you (Eph 6:11). The truth is powerful. Stand in it. Let the waves of forgiveness, grace and love come.
Soak your soul in Him.
