HELP
noun: aid, assistance, remedy, relief
It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls ‘Help, God!’ gets help.” Romans 10:12-13
Life can be such a struggle sometimes. We get lost, sick, distracted, and overwhelmed. We try to handle things on our own, but sometimes we just can’t. We need help. We need other people, and we need Jesus. And God is so generous with both.
He loves to bring people into our lives who speak truth to us, believe in us, inspire and encourage us. He knows our strengths and weaknesses, and he matches them up with the strengths and weaknesses of others. No matter how capable or smart we are, there are times we need to ask for help from the people in our world.
And we also need to ask for help from Jesus. He is our provider, the only one who can give us everything we need: physical needs like money for food and medical expenses, emotional needs like love and acceptance, spiritual needs like forgiveness and freedom and closeness to him.
We are not alone. There are hundreds of stories and verses in God’s Word about the help he gives to his people. He understands our human struggles, and he knows exactly what we need. He wants to help us.
Sometimes he gives us guidance, comfort, encouragement through a friend or even a stranger. Sometimes he changes a situation by opening up a different opportunity, making a way, healing or restoring something broken. And sometimes he just wraps his arms around us through a terrible storm and holds us close.
Invite Him In
Run to his welcoming arms of safety, comfort, and relief. Reach out to the people he has placed in your life. Whisper his name for guidance and support and peace. His heart of love will generously give you everything and everyone you need.
