Our Hope in Jesus is Unbreakable

“It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God…” Hebrews 6:19 MSG

Break-in.

Break-up.

Bad break.

Deal breaker.

Broken.

Breakable.

These words have a lot of negative connotations and emotions attached to them.  Fear and pain come alongside of brokenness. Loss and regret are close behind.

And that’s the world we live in. Our belongings, our bodies, our relationships, our hearts, our spirits are fragile. Frail. Vulnerable.

And it’s scary.

But we don’t have to live in fear when we are connected to Jesus. We are assured that no matter what happens, the spiritual lifeline–the hope that he gives us–is unbreakable. Other translations of the Bible call this hope:

Steadfast.

Firm.

Sure.

Strong.

Safe.

Secure.

Trustworthy.

So when we are afraid and unsure? When bad things happen? When we really feel broken?

That’s when we can absolutely count on Jesus.

Here’s the verse that comes before:

“…God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.” Hebrews 6:18 MSG

Let’s grab this promised hope and never let go!

Hold on to Jesus~Ask Him to be your lifeline.  Reach both hands out and trust Him. Even when things are breaking all around you–or inside of you– He will hold onto you. His promise of love and faithfulness is unbreakable. Thank him for this sure and steadfast gift of hope.
