RESCUED

verb: saved from danger or harm, freed from confinement

"So I greet you with the great words, GRACE and PEACE! We know the meaning of those words because Jesus Christ rescued us from this evil world we're in offering himself as a sacrifice for our sins. God's plan is that we all experience that rescue." Galatians 1:3,4MSG

The Finest Hours. Bridge of Spies. Hacksaw Ridge. All true stories. I think I loved these movies because of the dramatic rescues that took place in each one. The danger, the risk, the incredible courage that was shown...I cannot imagine being half as brave and unselfish as the characters in these films.

What would it feel like to be one of the rescued ones? One of the desperate victims of a storm, of war, of captivity - saved because someone believed that you were worth it?

Wanted. Valued. Deeply cared for. Irreplaceable.

Wow. No way would anyone risk his or her life for mine.

But, then I realize that Jesus already has. The lamb of God. Our hero. He sacrificed His life and rescued us. He came after us with everything He had, knowing He would lose it all. He broke us out of the prison of sin and death and gave us life with Him...grace, peace, and freedom we have never known.

So, that must mean that we are pretty important to Jesus.

Wanted. Valued. Cared about. Worth it.

What a surprise, what relief to be ransomed by Him!

What an amazing gift to be part of this story of love and redemption and joy.

And its the truest story we know...

Let's invite Him in: Thank Him for the incredible story that He is writing with your life. He knows exactly what confines you and the danger you are in. He sees the fear, the shame, and the doubt that keeps you locked up and desperate to be rescued. And, He came to get you. He gave His life so that you can have yours right now - forgiven, safe, and free. Run away from the walls and into His arms of love!
