WILD

adj: uncontrolled, unruly

also: passionately eager or enthusiastic, going beyond normal bounds

"Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!" Ephesians 3:19,20 MSG

The word WILD scares me a little bit. Does it scare you? Wild animals, wild drivers, wild seas...immediately, I feel out of control and vulnerable. Give me a seat belt and a life vest please! I like safe.

Uncontrolled and unruly - these words unsettle my soul.

But what about the other part of the definition?

Passionately eager? Going beyond "normal bounds"?  Isn't it exciting to think that God loves us that way?  The fascinating kind of wild--far beyond anything we've ever imagined!

Maybe this love our God wraps us up in is wilder in its scope, its strength, its passion than we have dared to believe. Maybe we need it to be wildly strong enough to hold us when we feel like we are spinning out of control. Maybe we need it to reach beyond our wildest fears to save us from dangers real and imagined. And just maybe our "wildest dreams" are nothing compared to what God has in mind for us.

Our simple minds cannot comprehend this kind of love, but He can breathe it into our hearts and souls today.

Let's invite Him in: Whether you need a strong gust of His passionately eager, enthusiastic love or just a reassuring whisper, He knows. Let's be brave and trust Him to take us on the ride of our lives...lives of fullness in Him. This God who loves us wildly has big plans for us if we will simply trust Him. Take off the life vest and the seat belt and hold His hand. Following Him can be scary and safe at the same time.
