adj: ready to face danger or pain; showing courage
"Be brave. Be strong. Don't give up. Expect God to get there soon." Psalm 31:24 MSG
One of my favorite words is brave. Maybe because I really want to be...
A lot has happened in the past few years of my life. I turned 50. I wrote a book. I made a big job change. My husband and I launched our first kid (now adult) out into the world, and the second one is close behind. I have experienced panic attacks, revisited some painful struggles from my past, and the hardest thing of all - I lost my Mom. These changes have rocked my world more than I would like to admit.
Sometimes, I have had to get brave just to keep going.
"Sometimes being brave means doing it scared," Michael Hyatt, has become one of my favorite quotes ever.
I've learned to depend on Jesus more than I ever used to before.
And that's okay. Because He always shows up. He is right there with us in the scary stuff, the hard stuff, and the new stuff that we have to be brave for. He knows everything that we are going through, and He is not going to leave us alone. Ever. The braver we need to be, the closer He comes.
Let's invite Him in: This blog, this website - this is me being brave. Come with me and let's find out more about what God wants to do in our hearts. We don't have to be afraid when we are with Jesus.
